A rich aroma of blackberry and spice jumps from the glass. This medium bodied beauty opens with bramble and cherry with more delicate notes of hibiscus and vanilla, supported with toasty oak and just the right acidity to balance. It finishes with an invigorating, mouth-warming spice.

The grape clusters were hand harvested at night to ensure gentle processing of cool fruit. At the winery, the grapes were hand sorted, de-stemmed, leaving 10% of the fruit as whole clusters for added complexity during pressing. The grapes were then fermented in temperature controlled tanks; we did punch-downs and pump-overs twice daily. Natural yeast was used for the fermentation, being supplemented by cultured yeasts. At dryness, the grapes were pressed directly into a combination of 40% new French oak barrels for 10 months aging.

The 2015 saw an early bud break due to a mild winter, and even though the crop yields were lower across the region, the quality of the grape was still high. Overall the clusters were smaller and more space in the vineyard that the previous three vintages. The growing season also ended unusually early; about ten days earlier than the average.

Suacci Vineyard is a 6.5-acre vineyard planted on south facing slopes of the Sebastopol Hills in Blucher Valley. An especially cool pocket of the Russian River Valley, there are short windows of heat in the midday, followed once again by the assertive ocean breezes which flow through the Petaluma Gap. With low yields and tiny clusters, this vineyard consistently produces Pinot Noir with intense, complex flavors with pronounced acidity.

Bailarín Cellars was created in 2014 by a collective of family and friends, each following their respective passions and all sharing one: quality wine. Together we focus on producing small lots of handcrafted wines from unique vineyard sources. We are proud to share the fruits of our labor and love with you.
